Pet exhumation is common! I have been doing same since the year 2000. Often when pet owners sell their home, they are concerned that future property developments may disturb their pet's remains.

Historically Pets are exhumed and the remains usually cremated but sometimes moved to a new location.

Exhumations are done carefully and respectfully and should usually take between one and several hours depending on complexity.

If the pet was not wrapped at the time or the wrapping has deteriorated, much extra time is required to refine the remains and separate from soil. This may add to the cost.

A minimum charge is always applied and only estimates of cost can be given based on extensive information provided.

More recently as some may already know I have undertaken a total knee replacement-(DEC 2023)..  I hope to be able to resume more simple exhumations in time. This requires me to assess a job critically with regard to several practical factors such as:-

*The depth and accuracy of the pets location,

*Size of animal and ease of access. (There have been many jobs where the location recollection is notoriously inaccurate  or insufficient and DAYS!! of digging has revealed nothing and cost the client unnecessarily).

My extensive experience is invaluable  but there is no magic way to find a body.

For now I welcome any inquiries however in time I may only attempt straightforward predictable jobs such as accurately located, relatively recent graves for wrapped cats and small dogs, with easy and uncluttered access. Client assistance with a dig will greatly help and possibly enable more challenging jobs.

In the event a client would consider doing the exhumation themselves I am more than willing to advise and assist remotely, or if the client is prepared to do much of the difficult digging for me I may be able to conduct the retrieval. I have recovered well as of May 2024 and an inquiry is encouraged.

After all these years it is difficult to say no or to give the game away!

Home Burials

I am no longer offering to excavate and back-fill a grave myself. If the owner is prepared to do that part themselves I may be able to assist and advise.

(Bear in mind that any Pet Cemetery, if you can find one, is a private enterprise and as such cannot guarantee permanence, as has been witnessed by "Rowville" "Animalia" etc!)

Phone me for a chat. I would be pleased to offer my expertise if required.

Email contact is encouraged with as much detail as possible and current photos of the burial site.
